about
“Arduous Becoming” is the first new music to see the light of day by Subterranean Disposition since their sophomore album, “Contagiuum and the landscapes of failure” was released back in 2016 on Hypnotic Dirge records.
It is the first taste of the upcoming third album entitled “Individuation“ which is due to drop this coming June.
This brand new song sees Terry Vainoras (Vocals/Guitar/Sax), Dan Nahum (Drums), and now too Justin Min (Bass) evolving on past works to meld a heavier, sludgier edge to the slow proceedings while also simultaneously exploring the dark ambient realms in new and exciting directions.
The saxophone featured in past albums returns and takes up further sonic real estate than before, crooning through the doom jazz-Esque parts as usual and also shrieking in a free jazz style over the Doom metal landscapes.
Never making the same album twice,
Arduous Becoming is a great example to expect the unexpected
when the full third album arrives later this year.
Employ these remnants of a dream
To gleam the curve on which time will grade
Beyond what is seen and heard
Focus and confront the intra-physical
Unpack these trauma wounds
Deeper meaning reveals itself in symbolic garb
Oh, Compensatory Function awaits the word
The journey divine
Fleeting visions arise and then go
Within and without
As above now so too below
Through black, white, red, and yellow
Within and without
As above now so too below
Don’t fear this cried aloud
Adrift in shifting sands
Its depth infinitesimal
Entrust your inner guide
Alone with no compass
Self-destructive umbrage
Longing for silence
Exploding within violence
The chasm is deep yet I descend
To the nadir, embalming my skin
As the reverie pulls me backward
There is nothing here to suffer
Again reborn, I shall conquer
